Darkness on the stair

Darkness on the stair...
Only shadows
stirring there?

Long shadows stretch

Long shadows stretch

across the freeway,

I race the sunset home.

Fleeting movement

Fleeting movement

at the edge of vision,

shadows here then gone.

Driving Home

Driving home

on sunset roads,

raced by long shadows.

Shadows lengthen

Shadows lengthen,

creeping up the hills –

the sun sinks westward.

Jay calls to jay

Jay calls to jay

across tree tops, shadows

creep up the mountain.
