A pigeon crossing

street-car tracks, bobbing forward,

bobbing back.

A slow train comin'...

One foot before the other,

I start down the tracks.

One foot before the other,

never looking back.

The train's long gone

The train’s long gone

but the tracks keep goin’…

Walking on the tracks

wet with rain, in the distance
streetcar bells clanging…
