A sultry night

in Big Sur, I stand

agape at all the stars.

The stars are bright
at night – but remember
they are always there.

Where are the stars tonight?

Where are the stars tonight?
Beyond this fog
which wraps us tight.

In the dark

In the dark
above the bed, Buddha
has a halo of stars.
