Thanks ladies. The irony (if that's what it is) is that I brought this pain on myself. These nailbed infections, when they happen, are apparently a result of nail biting.
I bite my nails, too, and have occasionally gotten that infection in the side of the nail. The swelling, the antibiotics (and for women, this is followed by the Girlie Nasties unless you take a probiotic!), and I'm a pianist as well! Lord, save us from ourselves, right? Peace, Amy
